Bugatti-Hunting French Supercar Revealed

The market for French supercars packing more than 1000-bhp is about to double, thanks to the introduction of the Genty Akylone. Equipped with a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, coupled to a 7-speed sequential shift transmission, the Akylone’s is intended to take on its Gallic rival, the Bugatti Veyron. However, an estimated top speed of 220 mph does fall short of the Veyron’s v-max.

The company behind the Akylone refers to itself as “an independent company based near Vichy (France).” The mystery deepens when it comes to price, none is presently listed. Genty Automobiles says only 15 units will be produced annually. While the business plan remains a work in progress, this video shows the Akylone at least has the look of a supercar.
